My last hurrah before starting work in August was a trip to Peru. I have dreamed of hiking in the Andes and visiting Machu Picchu for years, so I decided to just GO. I took my trip through REI Adventures. It was really well organized. I highly recommend traveling with a group like this. In any case, here goes the first installment of the travel-log.
I met my group in Cuzco on July 17:

We visited some interesting archeological sites around Cuzco, such as Sacsayhuaman, a walled Incan complex just outside of Cuzco:

What a cool trip! And great photos by the way. You make me want to go there someday.
I've been here!! Ben A. and I did our externship in Lima and got to go - how fabulous (though we cheated and did the train - wish I could do that part over)
I am so glad you got to do something so fun before going back to the firm. It makes me want to buy a plane ticket right now to some place exotic.
So all those people you travelled with were a bunch of random...people? That seems like the set up for a horror movie where evil creatures are hiding in the ruins and your new aquaintances start getting picked off one by one. Come to think of it, wasn't there a movie called "The Ruins" recently? I don't think I've seen a horror movie since I got married.
